Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by the virus and is of infectious character.
The virus of poliomyelitis has the ability to affect the central nervous system, namely, the gray matter of the spinal cord. In addition, inflammation starts inside the nasal mucous membranes and intestines. Polio disease is most often diagnosed in children but the grown-ups may also suffer from it.
